I have specialised solely in family law since I qualified as a solicitor in March 2001. I joined Stephensons in 1998 where I worked my way up from clerk to trainee solicitor to assistant solicitor to associate to partner in 2011 before leaving on 22 September 2017 to join KBL where I spent the next 3 years heading up and improving their family department.
I am able to provide first class legal advice that is specifically tailored to individual circumstances as I recognise that each case is different and each client has a different set of priorities. I am able to advise on all aspects of family law including divorce, judicial separation, dissolution of civil partnerships, financial settlements, prenuptial agreements, injunctions, occupation orders, matrimonial transfers of property, children disputes including residence, contact, parental responsibility and child abduction.
I have been accredited by Resolution as a specialist family lawyer with particular specialisms in advanced financial provision and domestic abuse. I am, therefore, “a safe pair of hands” to deal with complex financial disputes whether they involve a business, a trust or pensions, or a combination of all of these.
I am very proactive as I recognise that family problems are very stressful and clients want a solicitor who is accessible to them and who is always working to achieve a client focussed outcome, whilst keeping an eye on the legal costs involved. With this in mind here at VM Family Law we can offer fixed fees in certain circumstances and are always transparent on our costs and provide regular updates usually once a month to clients who are being charged on a time spent basis.
I try and resolve cases as quickly and as effectively as possible without having to issue Court proceedings but without ever compromising on the outcome. However when Court Orders are required then I do not shy away from litigation and instead conduct many, if not all of the Court Hearings myself frequently against barristers.
